Where is the Solheimajokull Glacier located?

The Solheimajokull Glacier is located just off Route 1, the Ring Road, on the southern coast of Iceland. It is one of the most easy to access glaciers in Iceland.

The location of the Solheimajokull Glacier parking lot is 31.1 kilometers (about 19 miles) west of Vík í Mýrdal (the town of Vik), 165 kilometers (about 103 miles) southeast of Reykjavik, and 11.3 kilometers (about 7 miles) east of the town of Skogar.

From the parking lot, you can walk about 30 minutes along a maintained path to the edge of the glacier.
